From a young age, I've always been fascinated by money and businesses. I can vividly remember how I started my own toy trading business during my primary school time, though my biggest client ended up to be my neighbor and my younger brother. My journey furthered with a business minor during my undergraduate studies, fueled by a relentless curiosity about the 'why' behind everything. This curiosity led me to delve deeper into the human mind, eventually earning a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology with a focus on Human Factors and Ergonomics.
Beyond books and theories, my role as a dad to two incredible boys, especially watching my eldest, Kai, explore money, has been enlightening. His curiosity and insights inspired me and my co-founders, James and Joyce, to launch PiggyPlay. We aim to coach and guide, not just teach, making financial literacy fun and accessible for kids, fostering a positive relationship with money early on.

I’m James Chua, a professional with a degree from the London School of Economics, where I specialized in Banking and Finance. My journey has led me to the vibrant landscape of banking and financial technology, where I currently thrive.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I proudly wear the hat of a devoted father to two wonderful children. Recognizing the pivotal role of financial literacy in shaping future generations, I am deeply passionate about instilling this invaluable knowledge in my own children and hopefully yours. I firmly believe that while academic excellence opens doors, it’s the mastery of financial principles that equips our children with the wings to soar even higher in life.

Hi, I'm Joyce! Growing up, I learned the importance of spending wisely and saving money. However, it wasn't until I started working that I truly grasped the significance of financial planning for my future. These vital skills could have been part of my life much earlier. That's why at PiggyPlay, we're committed to introducing kids to financial education, and in a way that's both fun and involves parents.
With an MBA specialising in innovation, design, and impact, I offer a fresh perspective to financial education for kids. My career insights help me understand human needs and craft solutions that make a real difference. This informs how I approach teaching children about financial literacy.
Being financial savvy isn't just about money; it's about instilling values and teaching kids to think beyond transactions. It's about empowering them to achieve financial freedom, fostering stability and prosperity for themselves and their loved ones, and perhaps even extending to broader communities.
